Intensely dark fruit leans into elderberry on the nose of this bottling, which also offers peppercorn and a graphite minerality. The palate is rounded and powerful, with dried berry, black pepper and toasted herb flavors leading into a tarry finish.
Grapes were placed directly into tank as 50% whole clusters. A natural pied de cuve was placed in tank on day 2. Punchdowns were performed once a day and the tank was pressed after 8 days. The wine was aged in neutral French oak.
Planted in the hills of Corralitos situated only three miles from coast. Farmed by Pruddy Foxx, this site is ideal for producing Pinot Noir with beautiful fruit and natural acidity. The site is planted to sandy clay loam soils and home to many different clones.
