A dark and meaty Pinot Noir with floral complexity and smoldering dark fruit that’s been tempered by age.
Variety: 100% Pinot Noir
Location: Hood River, OR
Alcohol: 12.5%
Dark colored, meaty, almost Côte Rotie-like Pinot Noir. This wine was almost too intense early in its life, but two years of aging in small casks have tempered its power and brought a haunting floral complexity to accompany the smoldering dark fruit.
Two years in aging in small casks.
This is sourced from vines planted on a 1.5 acre section of the site they farm in the east hills of Hood River. The vineyard is adjacent to Panorama Point with extraordinary views of Mt. Hood and the valley below. In 2018 they isolated the steepest part of the site’s central hill to make as a separate wine. This part of the site faces due South and is extremely well exposed.
