Variety: Riesling
Location: Germany
Alcohol: <0.5%
Pale with wine-like aromas of orange citrus, rhubarb, and tarragon. A pleasant minerality and notes of lime, citrus, and red apple are carried by residual sugar. The sugar does the work of maintaining flavor, but is offset by a cleansing acidity for balance. It ends with a crisp, off-dry, and semi-long finish.
These young vines are harvested and vinified in stainless steel before being de-alcoholized through a gentle process of vacuum distillation. The vacuum allows alcohol evaporation at lower temperatures thereby preserving the aromas and flavors present in the wine.
Johannes Leitz comes from a long line of winemakers. His family's estate has been in the Rhinegau since 1744. Nestled on high hills in the village of Rudesheim, his south facing slopes yield ripe berries with full flavors and aromas.
